What We Stand For

Six Things We Don't Compromise On.

These aren't posters on a wall. They're how we treat customers, teammates, and the work — every single day.

Do the Right Thing

Honesty isn't a marketing line — it's what gets done when nobody's watching. Every long-tenured customer is here because of that.

Treat People Like Family

Every customer is somebody's parent, neighbor, kid. Every teammate is part of that family too. It shows in how we talk to each other.

Nobody Says "Not My Job"

If something needs handling, it gets handled — or handed off cleanly. We don't punt problems and we don't point fingers.

Always a Little Better

Six decades in, we still don't think we've got it all figured out. We stay curious about what tomorrow could look a little sharper.

Make the Call

We trust the people closest to the work to make the decision. Less red tape, more ownership, faster outcomes for the customer.

Get Ahead of It

If we're reacting all day, we're not planning enough. We stay a step ahead — so the day doesn't run us.

How We Operate

People First. Always.

The standard you'll feel the moment you walk in — and the reason our team and our customers stay for decades.

  • We move fast, and we don't cut corners getting there.
  • We over-communicate — silence is where trust dies.
  • We create genuine connections — real conversations, not sales scripts. The human moments are what stick.
  • When a teammate needs help, we step in.
  • We don't badmouth competitors. We out-work them.
  • We celebrate wins out loud and own mistakes without excuses.

What You'll Notice From Day One

  • People who show up ready — on time, prepared, present.
  • Folks who take real pride in their work and the people they serve.
  • Voices that get heard — ideas, questions, opportunities.
  • Easy to be around. Hard to compete with.

What We Bring to the Table

  • Honest feedback, fast.
  • A team that has your back.
  • Real room to grow — financially and professionally.
  • Leadership that listens, decides, and follows through.

Where It Comes From

The Culture Has Roots.

The way we treat people didn't come from a training manual. In 1962, Tom Lyttle came over from Ireland with a work ethic and a simple belief: treat people right and they come back. He bought a struggling Ford store in Matawan and moved it to a former strawberry farm in Keyport — the ground we stand on today.

Three generations later, the same family still owns and operates the store. Walk the floor and you'll meet people who've been here 10, 20, 30, even 40 years. That kind of staying power is what a real culture feels like — and it's exactly what you feel as a customer.

The history is the proof. The experience is the point.

Where We're Going

The Best-Run, Most-Trusted Ford Dealership In The Country.

The car business is changing fast — EVs, digital retail, customer expectations shifting every year. We're not interested in just keeping up. We're building a dealership we'd want our own families to walk into. Not the biggest. The best.

Glad you're here. Welcome to Tom's Ford.
