1. Avoid High Speeds

When you’re at a stoplight or stop sign and it’s time to start driving again, accelerate slowly to avoid burning through more fuel. From a standstill, it should take you roughly five seconds to reach 10 mph.

3. Coast to a Stop

Constantly hitting the brakes also decreases your fuel efficiency, so pay attention to the roads ahead and always allow your vehicle to coast to a stop when it’s safe to do so.

For example, it’s better to run your AC when you’re on the highway. This is because driving with your windows down at high speeds increases your vehicle’s aerodynamic drag.

5. Avoid Stop-and-Go Traffic
