Three different engines are available for each Transit trim, all possessing different but necessary attributes. The 3.7L V6, the standard option, delivers 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque due to twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) capabilities. This technology optimizes engine performance in response to driving conditions. This engine delivers the appropriate amount of power without overtaxing fuel.

The powerful 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 pumps out 310 hp and best-in-class V6/V8 has 400 lb-ft of torque to handle towing tasks. This is possible due to the engine’s two small turbochargers and direct injection capabilities, which allow it to utilize every drop of fuel while quickly accelerating up to operating speed.

The last Transit engine option, the 3.2L I5 Diesel, is ideal for severe-duty functions like transport or courier service, it does so under rigorous stop-and-go conditions

What’s more, each engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission to deliver dependable performance under an array of driving conditions. The Transit also has a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds.
