Tom’s Ford Partners with Parents of Autistic Children
We think of ourselves as more than just a Keyport, NJ Ford dealership; Tom’s Ford is a part of New Jersey. We believe it’s essential to give back to the community we are a part of and are excited to partner with Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) to raise funds for their training and education programs, offering invaluable training to public servants and assisting people with autism.
Have a Heart for Autism
We are proud to take part in POAC’s Have a Heart for Autism event, opening Tom’s Ford up to help raise funds for autistic children and their families; when you visit us, you can put your name on a heart to pledge support. To kick off the Autism Awareness Month, we purchased 1,000 paper hearts for the event. All of the money raised from the campaign will be used to fund services and training to assist autistic children and their families.
Why We Support Parents of Autistic Children
New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the nation – 1 out of every 41 children in our state – but we also have some of the biggest hearts. After looking into what we at Tom’s Ford could do to help autistic children and their families, we found POAC right in our backyard. Based out of Hazlet, they provide hundreds of events for the autism community, including
- Free training for first responders and police
- Free education for parents and teachers
- Free recreational and support services to children with autism
They also work on developing and promoting legislation to assist people with autism and their families.
