  • What should I expect upon arrival at Tom’s Ford?
    • Tom’s Ford believes in providing our customers with an excellent car buying experience. Our goal is to have a knowledgeable staff that will exceed your expectations! We have a transparent sales process which eliminates any uncertainty & we focus on building long standing relationships built on trust.
  • Do I have to own my vehicle outright before I can trade it in?
    • No, in most cases Tom’s Ford has the ability to help you out even if there is money owed on your current vehicle.
  • What should I bring with me when I come to the dealership to buy a car?
    • Please bring you driver’s license, insurance card, & trade-in (if you have one). Also, consider bringing your title in an effort to save time.
  • Can I get out of my lease early?
    • Yes, depending on the number of remaining payments. Each case is different & we would have to take a look at the terms and conditions of your current lease.
  • Can I buy my lease out at the end of the term?
    • Yes, this is an option and the amount is pre-determined so you are able to plan ahead!
  • How many miles can I drive with a lease vehicle?
    • Tom’s Ford will help you structure a lease that benefits your needs, down to the mileage. Whether you drive 10,500 or 19,500 per year we make the lease work for you. We want you to have the proper mileage parameters on your lease so you have peace of mind & flexibility throughout your lease.
  • What are my options at the end of my lease?
    • At the end of your lease, you have a few options to consider. Most customers love their Ford vehicle so much that they decide to lease another Ford product. Others decide to buy out their lease or simply return their lease. Tom’s Ford offers additional loyalty rebates for returning customers, just another added benefit.
  • Is leasing or financing the better option for me?

  • How do I obtain plates and registration after the transaction?
    • Don’t worry, we have got you covered! We handle your license plates, registration, & title in-house so you don’t have to go through the motion or hassle with DMV.
  • How do I know which Ford vehicle is best for me?
    • You should have an idea about which size vehicle you need, but it is suggested that you come test drive a few vehicles to determine which one works best for your lifestyle & budget. Our sales professionals will also provide you with useful information that will help you make the right choice.
  • Do you accept trade-ins?
    • Yes, we accept trades of all makes and models. Please bring your trade in with you so we can take a look at it while you test-drive your new car.
  • What happens if you don’t have the exact vehicle I’m looking for?
    • Tom’s Ford has a huge selection of inventory on the ground & also receives new inventory on a daily basis. However, if we don’t have your vehicle on the lot we will do our best to find it for you!
  • Is my Ford warranty valid outside of New Jersey?
    • Yes, the Ford Factory Warranty is valid anywhere in the North America. The new car coverage is 3 years or 36,000 miles bumper to bumper, whichever comes first and a 5-year 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. You will also have Roadside Assistance for 5 years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first) which is valid anywhere in North America as well.
  • What mandatory fees do I have to pay?
    • Our dealer fees are among the lowest in the state. Our only fee is a documentation fee of $295.00. In addition, you do have state charges such as tax or vehicle registration.

 

Service:

  • Do I need an appointment before I come in for an oil change?
    • No, however, it recommended you make an appointment so we can get you in and out as quickly as possible.
  • How often should I get my oil changed?
    • We recommend you change your oil every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
  • What are my major service intervals?
    • While your vehicle should have an oil change every 5,000 miles there are other services that are recommended at certain mileage points. We find it best to have a multi-point inspection done every 15,000 miles to ensure all parts of the vehicle are in top operating condition.
  • Will Tom’s Ford look over my vehicle and provide a vehicle health report card?
    • Yes, Tom’s Ford will inspect various components on your vehicle while being worked on. Items such as tires, brakes, battery, & fluids will be inspected. If there is an issue with any of these items your service adviser will discuss them with you & provide solutions to assure you get back on the road safely. We will also inspect some of the most commonly overlooked items such as windshield wipers, alignment status, & tire pressure.
  • Should I repair my existing car or buy a new one?
    • Our Service Reps will be completely transparent with you and let you know if they feel you should consider investing in a new car. We can also provide you with a “market value report” on your car which will provide live market data for you to review
  • I Got a Recall Notice, but why don’t you have the parts to fix it?
    • Whenever there is a large recall, on any manufacturer, they’re required to notify the public ASAP. With that being said you may have received a notice about the issue before the manufacturer managed to produce enough parts to fix the issue for everyone. Recall parts have the highest priority to a manufacturer so we can assure you they’ll be available as soon as they’re ready.
  • How will I know when the parts are there?
    • Our dealership has a Recall Notification Process that will allow us to notify you when the parts become available to us from Ford. If you provide our service department with your name, recall notification #, and best contact info for us to reach you.
  • Can I bring my car in if it’s not a Ford?
    • YES! We service most major brands. While we cannot provide you with warranty service and some more complex repairs, most scheduled maintenance is not a problem. You can contact our Quick Lane desk to schedule an appointment or ask questions if you’re unsure if we can help you.
